Our basic principles
- We only collect what we need to answer quotes, schedule work, and run projects.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
- We use your details to serve you — estimates, appointments, contracts, invoices, and warranties — not for spam.
- We keep access limited to people who need it for the business.
- You can ask us questions about your data anytime at the email below.
- We are transparent about website analytics (see Google section below).
1. Information We Collect
You give us directly (contact form, deck estimate, email, phone):
- Name, email, phone, city / neighborhood
- Project details, sizes, material preferences, and messages
- Preferred visit times or notes you choose to share
- Appointment details if you book online through Google Calendar (name, email, phone if requested, and chosen time)
Technical data may be collected automatically by our web host (for example page requests, browser type, or IP-related logs needed to run the site securely).
Analytics: We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand site traffic (see section 4).
Online booking: When you use our appointment page, scheduling is powered by Google Calendar. Google processes booking information under Google’s terms so the appointment can be created on our calendar and confirmation emails can be sent.
2. How We Use Your Information
- Respond to quote and estimate requests
- Schedule site visits, estimates, and project work
- Communicate about proposals, contracts, payments, and warranties
- Improve our website and services (including with analytics)
- Meet legal, insurance, and tax requirements
3. How We Share Information
We share information only when needed, for example with:
- Service providers who help us operate the site or business (for example, form delivery such as FormSubmit, email providers, web hosts, Google Calendar appointment booking, or Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics), under obligations to protect your data
- Professional advisors such as insurance carriers, accountants, or attorneys when reasonably necessary
- Legal authorities when required by law, court order, or to protect safety, property, or legal rights
- Subs / suppliers on your project, only with details needed to do the work
4. Cookies, Analytics & Google
Our site may use essential cookies or similar technologies required for basic functionality and security.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 so we can understand how visitors use the site (for example pages viewed, approximate location, device/browser type, and referral source). Google may set cookies or use similar technologies and process data on our behalf under Google’s terms. We use this only to improve the website and our services — not to sell personal information or show third-party ads on this site.
Google’s privacy information: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses information from sites that use its services · Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
You can also control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some analytics features.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable steps to protect information you send us (HTTPS when the site is hosted correctly, limited access to business email, reputable form tools). No system is 100% secure. Please do not send Social Security numbers, full bank account numbers, or other highly sensitive IDs through website forms.
6. Data Retention
We keep inquiry and project information as long as needed to serve you, run the business, and meet legal/tax/insurance needs, then delete or de-identify it when it is no longer required (subject to backups).
7. Your Choices
- Ask what information we have about you
- Ask us to correct or delete information (where we are not required to keep it)
- Opt out of non-essential marketing emails (we may still email about an active quote or project)
Email request@straightstudllc.com for any privacy request.
8. Children’s Privacy
This site is for adults seeking construction services. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Third-Party Links
Links to other sites (including Google) have their own policies. We are not responsible for those sites.
10. Changes
We may update this policy when our practices change (for example, when Google Analytics goes live). The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised policy where the law allows.
